SONS OF UNION VETERANS OF THE CIVIL WARS.

1. Civil War Veterans or,
The History of this list Alan Rumrill (Director of the Historical Society of Cheshire County 246 Main Street, Keene NH) had obtained a listing prepared around the 1950's or earlier. Several of the names had errors of spelling or just initials with last names. None of them had the regiments that they belonged to. Michael P. Hurt 305 Mulberry St., Claremont, NH 03743 (email mllphurt@cyberportal.net) has spent considerable time on this project and has very kindly made his research available! Michael has identified all but about 60 of them now from his own records. Michael also added the date of death where he knew it. This project is not yet completed. In continuing with this project, Michael reports he has suspect regiments on several more individuals, but needs to locate the graves first. If you have additional information for this file, please email Michael Hurt! ***We do have photographs of some individuals and also of some gravestones! Those with graves with photographs have hyperlinks to the photographs! Note: This list was
updated 09/24/98. These are rather large files (about 75K each) and
therefore will take some time to open -- please be patient and enjoy! |
